An authentic 2nd century coin has been set in this silver pendant, depicting two hands, a caduceus and two ears of corn.
Coined in the passage between the emperor Hadrian and his successor Antonino Pio, adopted by him (in the back of the coin we can see the bust of Antonino Pio) the “clasped hands” indicate a full support of the army, as well as senatorial; the caduceus is a symbol of peace and of Felicitas, the ears of wheat indicate Prosperity.
